The title says it all. As one of the few well-received bits of news during this morning's Sony TGS press conference, Square Enix announced that it will bring the PS2 hit, Final Fantasy X, to the Vita and its big brother in remastered form. Details on exactly what this means were scarce, but we imagine it'll look prettier and prettier-er on the Vita and PS3, respectively.

We know that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is among the least descriptive titles ever applied to a video game -- that's why Square Enix and Nintendo decided to release a few screenshots and a Japanese trailer to accompany the RPG's announcement. How sweet of them!

At Nintendo's Tokyo Games Show press conference, the company announced two new RPGs hitting the Land of the Rising Sun next year. The first is a new Square Enix title (literally) called Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, and all we really know about it so far is that it has that name -- the same one that Square Enix registered a trademark for earlier this year. There is one other bit of news: Square Enix designer Akihiko Yoshida (of Final Fantasy Tactics and a few other quality titles) is doing the character designs. That should be nice.

There's also a new Fire Emblem game planned for next year. No title for that one, but we're told it will be an original game, and have two-player co-op play. The one drawback? It's not called "Bravely Default: Flying Fairy."

Back in April, Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest 10 was "almost done," and then last week, we finally heard about the game itself, due out next year in Japan, via a reveal announcement. But if you thought that was fast, not so -- apparently the title's been worked on for over six years already.

That makes the whole venture a little more interesting. Today, console MMOs and persistent Internet connections are fairly prevalent, but six years ago, that obviously wasn't the case. And this also means that DQ10 ran alongside development of Dragon Quest 9, with Level 5 and Square Enix presumably working on the portable title and the online game at the same time.

We'll have to see how the final game turns out -- fans are skeptical, to say the least, of turning the series into an MMO. But at least we know the game wasn't thrown together overnight.

Listen up, Cher: With Final Fantasy XIII-2's time travel/plot device the "Historia Crux," you can turn back time, and maybe even find a way, provided you find the right stuff. By locating hidden "Artefacts," Cher can unlock new locations and times for Noel and Serah to visit via the Historia Crux, which serves as the sequel's main vehicle for story progression and world navigation.

As any seasoned time traveller will tell you, changing stuff in the past changes stuff in the future, and because of that XIII-2's overall experience is said to be much less linear and direct than its predecessor. According to director Motomu Toriyama, Square Enix is aiming for a "much more player driven concept," with the "gameplay and story itself" changing around the player's actions. You can also expect to encounter younger (and potentially older) versions of characters from Final Fantasy XIII proper along the way.

This may be Final Fantasy's first and last hoorah in the realm of time travel, however. Toriyama says that each entry in the series receives its own unique gameplay system, and that have no intentions of making time travel key in future installments. Additionally, player-testing has already revealed strong comparisons to Chrono Trigger, and while Toriyama doesn't categorize that information as being especially negative, we doubt Square Enix wants to seem iterative or uninspired.

This is it -- the moment Final Fantasy XIII fans have been waiting for. The announcement of a potential announcement for the third series installment, Final Fantasy XIII-3, in the form of a domain-name registration months before XIII-2 is even released. Please, contain your excitement. Corporation Service Company registered finalfantasyxiii-3.com on September 7; Square Enix has previously used CSC to register its domains and this fits Square's modus operandi.

XIII-3 hasn't yet been officially announced, but XIII-2 is expected to drop in January 2012.

Final Fantasy Type-0 is finally coming out in Japan on October 27, and Square Enix is observing the long-awaited occasion with an absolutely gorgeous collector's edition. This limited release of the PSP game packs a book of postcards and a three-disc soundtrack set, and looks damn good doing it.

Here's a bummer: this super pretty set is only going to be available on the Japanese Square Enix e-Store, for ¥12,760. So, there's very little chance of actually encountering one of these in real life. We're addressing this situation by just gazing languidly at this picture, and the others on Andriasang. It'll also be possible to buy the soundtrack and postcards later, if you're the proactive type.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution has shipped 2 million copies across North America, Europe and PAL territories, Square Enix announced today. Although that's "shipped" and not "sold," the game is certainly no slouch in that department, having topped the UK charts since launch and the US sales chart for August.

Next up for Human Revolution is the "Missing Link" DLC, available next month. Square Enix is also certainly augmenting its development staff at Eidos Montreal to get more content out and fast-track that inevitable sequel.

Square Enix has shed some more light on Adam Jensen's retroactively mysterious disappearance covered in the upcoming "Missing Link" downloadable content for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As previously revealed, the DLC fills in a three day chunk of Deus Ex, during which Jensen loses the use of his cybernetic augmentations.

We assumed the DLC would include new characters and story, but today Square officially revealed a much more interesting tidbit: The ability to "rebuild Adam's augmentation set." In other words, players will be able to reapply those wasted Praxis points on more useful augmentations. We're guessing Jensen is still stuck with his most useless augmentation, however, that being his permanent sunglasses.

"Missing Link" will arrive next month.

Purchasers of Deus Ex: Human Revolution's "Augmented Edition" on PS3 were supposed to receive a DVD with the game's soundtrack on it. One slight problem: the disc that says "DVD" on it is actually a Blu-ray disc, meaning that consumers who want to transfer the soundtrack to their computer's media library need a Blu-ray drive on their computers, which isn't exactly a standard feature.

We contacted Square Enix, which has been aware of the situation since the game's launch, about the current status of a fix. The company told us at the end of August that it was working on a solution. Today it tells us that it's in the "final stages" of figuring something out.

If there were only a simple, technological way to take music, already awkwardly confined to physical discs, and make it easily available on the internet. It's a conundrum that we're glad to hear Square is taking weeks to figure out.

After engagements on iOS, PSN, and XBLA, the techno-trippy, genetics-themed shmup Space Invaders Infinity Gene is mutating into an Android game. The shooter will be available for purchase tomorrow on the Android Market for $5.

If you're an Android adherent, and at all interested in the idea of a shooter that slowly "evolves" new abilities, visual styles, and gameplay elements as you play it, you'll want to check this out. Not only because we think it's a novel shooter with accessible touch controls, but also so you can use your money to influence Square Enix to port Reisuke Ishida's follow-up game, the amazing Groove Coaster.

Though it's being outpaced by unglamorous leaks, the Deus Ex DLC drip-feed continues with a few more details on Human Revolution's upcoming add-on. Square Enix has announced that "The Missing Link" will be available in October, bringing with it new environments, characters and some narrative embellishment.

As we've already reported, the DLC will address a temporal gap in the storyline that has been made retroactively mysterious by the announcement of this DLC. From now on, become suspicious every time a protagonist takes a nap and the screen blacks out.

#deusex Deus Ex: Human Revolution was supposed to be out Sept. 8 in Japan, but it's now slated for sometime in Oct. So, not only is the Wii getting one more huge game -- it's getting a huge online game. Series creator Yuji Horii introduced the first trailer for Dragon Quest X tonight at a reveal event, which culminated in a logo for "Dragon Quest X Online." Horii called it an "online RPG," which could refer either to an MMO-style game or a game in which a few players join up into small parties.

The trailer showed a convincingly cel-shaded game with a look similar to Dragon Quest VIII, with characters identified only by classes, including ogres, elves, and dwarves. A party consisting of multiple classes is shown running on a world map, and many of the series' familiar monsters, including various Slimes, are shown.

While Level-5 was responsible for the development of Dragon Quests VII and VIII, only Square Enix was named this time. We'll have more details following the conclusion of the event.

While Square Enix left clues hinting at DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, we doubt the publishers expected its plans to be revealed quite this easily. After following a convoluted breadcrumb trail of images and websites hinting at the truth, eager fans have uncovered the official details ... right in the Deus Ex website's RSS.

Opening up the DeusEx.com RSS XML reveals that the DLC will indeed be titled "Missing Link" and will take place during a three day-period in which protagonist Adam Jensen "vanishes," after which he must escape from a freighter. The clincher: His augmentations have been disabled.

"Hey," you're undoubtedly thinking, "wouldn't that mean his cybernetic arms would just stop working?" You're right, of course, but we're talking about the same game that allows players to knock a guard unconscious without being noticed by the other guard standing two feet away. Some suspension of disbelief is probably in order.

Assuming the RSS is correct, the DLC will be officially revealed on September 8. We've included the RSS description after the break. Be warned that it contains some minor spoilers.
