Add the Exor Studios-developed Zombie Driver HD to the growing list of delisted downloadable titles. According to the developer, the XBLA and PSN Japan versions of Zombie Driver will soon be taken down due to the bankruptcy of its publisher Cyberfront Corporation.

"We are currently working on getting the game re-published on XBLA however we can not confirm at this time when or if this will happen. EXOR Studios owns the IP, but we can not publish the game ourselves due to Microsoft's policies," Exor COO Pawel Lekki tells Joystiq.

Though the vehicular combat game will also be pulled from the PlayStation Network in Japan due to its publisher's closure, Lekki says the company is already solving the issue with Sony, assuring the game will be back online "at a later time."

Perhaps ensuring a similar situation will be avoided in the future, Microsoft's Xbox One console allows for self-publishing in its digital storefront. Currently, Microsoft's policy on Xbox 360 only allows for titles to be submitted to its Xbox Live Arcade marketplace under the banner of an approved publisher.

Zombie Driver versions on Steam, PSN in the Americas and Europe, Windows Store and on Ouya are not affected by the game's publisher woes.

It looks vaguely Zelda-esque and Bombermanly, and you can try it for free if you're on Plus.

Zombie Driver HD hits (we hope not literally) XBLA, Steam and Android devices on October 17, with a launch on PSN to follow "soon after," Exor Studios writes. The above launch trailer shows off the violent zombie-smashing action of Zombie Driver HD, covering a range of vehicles, cityscapes and angry plant-based monsters.

We've been so inundated with games that let you kill zombies, we've forgotten that, in many ways, they're just like us, with their own undead hopes and dreams. That's why we're so excited to hear about Zombie Driver HD, coming to PSN and XBLA from Exor Studios. We can't wait to run zombie errands, pick up the kids from zombie school and maybe even buy some imitation brain at the zombie Whole Foods. You know, everyday stuff. We're just about to watch the trailer, so we'll have more refined opinions soon.

... Well, OK, so it looks like "Zombie Driver" actually refers to killing zombies with driving. In fact, this is an expanded version of an existing PC game just with added content like boss fights and a doubly long campaign. So, yeah, that's on us. That's our bad. But hey, at least it's good news for Zynga, which won't have to scrap plans for ZombieErrandsVille for fear of a protracted legal battle.

Back in late 2009, EXOR Studios released a game on PC called Zombie Driver. The game is a bit like Housemarque's Dead Nation in premise in that you're in a quarantined city and you have to survive wave after wave of zombies. Except this time, you're defending yourself with your motor vehicle, and your job isn't to only keep yourself alive, but to help rescue any survivors you come across...
