A round of PSN password resets happened today. Sony notified select PSN users through email after the company discovered "irregular activity" on its PlayStation Network.

"The Sony Entertainment Network team routinely monitors for any irregular activity, and if such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected accounts to protect consumers and their account information," said the email, which you can read in full past the break. Any specifics regarding this "irregular activity" have not been announced, so we've followed up with Sony for comment.

PSN security has been a priority for Sony since the PlayStation Network outage in 2011, which was caused by an "external intrusion" compromising personal information. Sony would then go on to recruit former US Homeland Security official Phillip Teitinger as its Chief Information Security Officer.

Square Enix unleashed five trailers for its Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster remakes today. The trailers hone in on two of the games' chraracters, Wakka and Rikku, and also show battles and blitzball matches, both prettier than their respective PS2 games. The final video of the bunch highlights the first game's iconic moment between Yuna and Tidus at the Holy Springs.

The PS3 version of the remastered compilation was delayed to March 18, 2014 in North America and March 21 in Europe with details of the Vita version's new release date yet to come. Square Enix is on track to launch both on December 26 in Japan.

If there was a bizarre hybrid of F1 2013 and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, it ought to involve some form of VettelSnake. As it is, the two entities are brought together by Sony Europe's 12 Deals of Christmas, with both discounted on PSN until Saturday, December 7.

That means Euro-types can pick up F1 2013 on PS3 for £16, and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for £12 on Vita. If they're PlayStation Plus subscribers, there's an additional 10 percent discount to be had, too.

Doki-Doki Universe, from Toejam & Earl creator Greg Johnson and HumaNature Studios, is set to launch on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita next week, on December 10, for $15. Doki-Doki Universe will be cross-buy enabled, so picking it up on one platform will unlock it on all the others.

Doki-Doki Universe puts players in the cold metallic boots of a robot name QT3, whose model is set to be discontinued. By proving to Alien Jeff (just go with it) you've got some humanity, he won't send you off to the scrap heap. Naturally, QT3 aims to accomplish this by traversing different planets, interacting with their inhabitants and taking personality quizzes.

There is also a neat message-sharing mechanic where you can send animated messages to friends on Facebook and mobile at the heart of Doki-Doki Universe. Players can also create their own planet and allow their friends to visit.

A free "Starter Pack" version of Doki-Doki Universe including a few personality tests, the Doki-Doki Mail messaging feature, a tutorial planet and QT3's home planet will be available alongside the premium version at launch on December 10.

Telltale's The Wolf Among Us is set to launch today on iOS. The game's first episode, titled "Faith," will cost $4.99, while a pass for the game's entire season will be priced at $14.99, Touch Arcade reported. The latest trailer for the game notes that it will also arrive "soon" on PlayStation Vita.

The Wolf Among Us' first episode launched in mid-October on Xbox 360 and PC. The series is based on Bill Willingham's Fables comic series, guiding the werewolf-like Sheriff Bigby through a section of New York City known as Fabletown. Our review of the episode found the game to be a "perfect beginning" to Telltale's new series, and it made us "invested in protecting these curious creatures from our storybooks."

Renegade Kid's plane-hopping platformer Mutant Mudds Deluxe will debut for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on December 17 as a Cross-Buy release, studio co-founder Jools Watsham announced.

The PSN version of Mutant Mudds Deluxe will be priced at $9.99, and includes Cross-Save functionality across both platforms. Players in Europe will need to wait a little longer before joining the fight against the Mudds, however, as Watsham notes that "the cost and logistical hassle" of age-rating submissions has delayed the game's European launch on PSN and the Wii U eShop.

Watsham additionally revealed that work on the upcoming sequel Mutant Mudds 2 has been put on hold while the team finishes up work on its current project, Treasurenauts. "We feel that it is healthier/better for us to develop a new 2D platform game in between Mutant Mudds and Mutant Mudds 2 to maintain perspective on what Mutant Mudds 2 needs to be," he explained.

Treasurenauts has been delayed to next year, and a release date for Mutant Mudds 2 has not been announced. Series fans have a new batch of content to look forward to, however, as Watsham revealed that the original Nintendo 3DS version of Mutant Mudds will receive a free update "sometime in 2014."

Atlus has shipped more than 800,000 copies of Dragon's Crown since the game's launch in August, Games Industry reports. Dragon's Crown is the 2D RPG and beat 'em up from Vanillaware, and our review touches on possible reasons for its success. For one, "combat in Dragon's Crown is fluid, satisfying and intense, and represents a major, necessary evolution of the style introduced in Capcom's Dungeons & Dragons series."

Atlus also announced today that it's moved 700,000 copies of Persona 4: Golden worldwide since that game's launch in 2012.

The PlayStation Store has issued its weekly update, which is headlined by Spearhead Games' PS4 puzzle game, Tiny Brains. In our review from earlier today, we called the game "accessible and adorably illustrated" with just a tinge of dark humor.

PS Vita launch game Escape Plan also comes over to the PS4 today with its cross-buy functionality intact, so if you've already picked up the game on another system you can play it on PS4 gratis. On the PS Vita side, both Rainbow Moon and Stick it to the Man make their platform debut today.

PS Plus members can download a free copy of Grid 2 on PS3 today. On top of that, there's the ongoing holiday sale to consider, plus price adjustments on games like Limbo, Saints Row: The Third and more.

On the second deal of Christmas, PlayStation Europe offered to me: Diablo 3 on PS3 for £30, and Spelunky for £5.50 on Vita, with an additional 10 percent off Derek Yu's hard-as-nails platformer for PlayStation Plus members ... in a pear tree.

Alright, it's not catchy, but it is a decent second batch for the 12 Deals of Christmas. The PS Europe promo runs until Christmas Day, with today's deals available until December 5.

A word of caution on Spelunky: The game should feature cross-buy, meaning a purchase of the Vita version unlocks the PS3 version. That said, the PlayStation Blog's deal specifically marks out Vita, and on the PlayStation Store the offer is only for the Vita version. We've reached out to Sony to confirm and clarify what today's discount specifically applies to.

PlayStation Europe kicks off its yuletide PSN sale with a Christmas cracker: FIFA 14 for £25 (€35/AU$45) on PS3, and £20 (€25/AU$33) on Vita. They're the first of 24 gaming discounts in the wrongly named 12 Deals of Christmas - which doesn't run across the 12 days of Christmas either.

Instead, the promotion runs from the start of this month through to Christmas Day, with each discount available across 48 hours. That means you have until tomorrow, December 3 to net the FIFA 14 deals.

Messi Christmas, everybody!

Hohokum, the relaxing and adorable downloadable title from Frobisher Says developer Honeyslug, has been delayed beyond the PS4's Japan launch. Famitsu reports Hohokum is now expected within the vague timeframe of "sometime in 2014," noting the game's original planned release date hovered around the PlayStation 4's debut in Japan (via Siliconera).

Sony will launch the PlayStation 4 on February 22, 2014, in Japan. Along with most Western launch titles, the PS4 will arrive with region-exclusives, including Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, Yakuza: Restoration and more.

Hohokum is also coming to the PS3 and Vita.

December tends to be a financially exhausting month, what with the cousins, co-workers, friends and pets filling up your "must gift" list. All that generosity can leave you left with nothing but warm feelings and an empty wallet, and let's be honest - warm feelings won't do much to stave off the soul-crushing boredom that hits around 4PM every Saturday. Members of PlayStation Plus need not fear, however, as the service is winding down 2013 with a fine selection of free games for PS3 and Vita.

If driving is your thang, snag "aggressive" racer Grid 2, which lets you wind back a few seconds of time should something disastrous happen on the track. If you like to drive, shoot things, and collect a lot of loot (with which you can also shoot things), there's Borderlands 2. If you've never given this one a try, do it, especially if you're in the mood for some superfun co-op.

If shooting things while experiencing a rip in the fabric of spacetime all hopped up on cold medicine is more your style, Dyad is the way to go. A bit of a hidden gem, Dyad is a trippy shooter in the spirit of Rez or Space Giraffe, and while the blend of color and music with fast-paced twitch shooting isn't for everyone, we're pretty sure it's a recruitment tool for Starfighters of some sort.

Vita owners get a pair of wheel-happy titles gratis in December: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Urban Trial Freestyle. It would be hard to blame you for shrugging off a kart racer, even a free one, but we said Sonic "might be the best racer of its kind to come along in years, and that's no exaggeration," so you may want to make a point of checking it out. The latter lets you take your customizable motorbike all over town, performing tricks like ollies, wallrides, and others that undoubtedly invalidate your insurance policy.

For those still on the fence about picking up a PlayStation Plus membership, it's on the cheap this Black Friday (today!), with various retailers marking it down to $29.99.

Sony is promoting its Android and PlayStation Vita mobile storefront by giving away two PlayStation Mobile games weekly through the end of the year.

This week, players can pick up a free copy of Passing Time, a soccer-themed action game from Frobisher Says! developer Honeyslug. Also up for grabs is Martin Jonasson's Rymdkapsel, a meditative strategy game and recent Humble Mobile Bundle initiate.

Both games are free to download for the PlayStation Vita and for PlayStation Certified devices like the Sony Xperia Z smartphone, Wikipad and Sony Xperia Z.

Though not a retailer in the traditional sense, Atlus couldn't help but be caught up in the festive spirit of Black Friday and has slashed prices on nearly its entire catalog of games.

Notable highlights include PlayStation 2 cult hit Odin Sphere for $5, Demon's Souls for $13.49 and Persona 4 Arena for $15 (or $23 if you opt for the game's Ultimate Edition which includes all of its DLC additions). If you're looking for a more recent release, Atlus has also discounted both PS3 and Vita versions of Dragon's Crown (each is now priced at $30), while also reducing the price of Shin Megami Tensei 4 from $50 to $30.

As far as caveats, they're generally positive this time around. Most importantly, you should get a jump on these prices, as this sale is already going on. Atlus planned the sale to kick off on November 26 and it will run through December 3. What's more, you won't need to brave rabid crowds of human detritus to score these cheap games. All of the discounts Atlus has prepared for its especially lengthy Black Friday celebration are available either online or in retail stores. Now, when Turkey Claus comes gobbling down your chimney, you can wave off his gifts and instead devour his plump, succulent body in front of friends, family and a Dallas Cowboys game, just as Abraham Lincoln intended.

Joining the streaming entertainment options on the PlayStation 3 is Qello, a relatively new service that is best described as "Netflix, but for live concerts and films about music."

Available now, Qello offers a deep catalogue of artists, concerts and documentaries, though it lacks a few notable entries: The Band's The Last Waltz, Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary Shine A Light, and even Purple Rain is absent. Still, the number of films on the service is massive, and you should be able to find content from any artist (assuming it isn't your best friend's struggling 2 Live Crew bluegrass cover band).

Like other major streaming services, Qello comes with a subscription fee. PlayStation users are being granted a free 15-day trial of Qello, but after that the service will set you back $5 each month, or $45 for an annual subscription. If you're unsure about plunking down money for Qello, we recommend visiting Qello TV from your web browser. Though Qello TV doesn't allow viewers to choose what they want to see, the free, streaming concert footage it provides should offer a good idea of what Qello is offering PlayStation 3 users.

Qello will soon appear on Sony's Vita handheld as well as the PlayStation 4. There's no word on when these systems might add the concert flick service, though an announcement regarding the Vita iteration of Qello should appear by the end of the year.

Hi Everyone. Amongst all the excitement for the launch of PS4 and, of course, Killzone Shadowfall, here at Guerrilla Cambridge we’ve still been busily working away on Killzone Mercenary. We’re now very pleased to announce that there will be a number of updates coming over the next few months.

First up is Update 3. In terms of functionality there will only be minimal changes, but this is the patch that reduces the size of the other patches! After installing this patch it will free up around 800MB of space for those who have already installed Updates 1 & 2. Update 3 should be ready in the next few weeks.

11071146705_b939f3d11c_n.jpg11071146425_6636de56c6_n.jpg

Update 4 is due in January and is being designed to improve Matching and to help reduce join-game connectivity problems, as well as adding an auto team-rebalancing feature.

Following that is the big one: Update 5. Two new multiplayer maps for FREE, and the release of offline Botzone for Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes.

Also in the first few months of 2014 will be Update 6, in which we’re working towards continued refinements and adding support for playing Killzone Mercenary on Vita TV.

We hope you enjoy the additions to Mercenary. Happy gaming.
