A portion of a Siliconera review...

Its clever scenarios and tricky physics-based puzzle solving are its strongest points, but it fails to elaborate on its best ideas and often felt incomplete. If you’ve ever wanted to see a sewer rat dissolved by the mighty wrath of a scientist’s urine, though, then Puddle has something for you.

If you just go crazy for physics-based games, maybe give this game a shot. Otherwise, you may want to wait for the next great thing to hit the eShop.

A portion of a Dtoid review...

Fans of LocoRoco or those hurting for games to play on their Wii U will probably dig it, so long as they have the patience to rev it up a little bit. It's still a neat little puzzler for sure, but it needs a bit more tweaking for me to wholly recommend it.

A portion of an ONM review...

The introduction outstays its welcome, but Puddle flows into a more interesting game than you might expect.

A portion of a C3 review...

Neko Entertainment, perhaps better known so far for its numerous licensed games as well as its "Cocoto" line inspired by bigger guns, came up with what's perhaps its most original creation so far, and a very fun little game indeed that, despite not being a gameplay revolution, fits nicely in the launch line-up of eShop titles on the Wii U and should catch the interest of fans of the genre.

It has been confirmed that Puddle is going to run 60fps, and that includes when playing in off-TV mode.

Hello, I’m Sébastien from Neko Entertainment. We came out with a game earlier this year called Puddle, and we’re bringing it to PS Vita next week!

Puddle began as a project by six students of the video game school ENJMIN. It won a Student Showcase prize at the Independent Gaming Festival at GDC 2010, and was later picked up by Neko Entertainment. There, those same six students were able to turn it into a full-fledged game.

After we released the game on PS3, we worked hard to get a better handle on the game’s mechanics, so we’d be able to deliver a new version of Puddle on PS Vita. We paid particular attention to feedback from PS3 players when working on the PS Vita version — which will have many exclusive features!

We made the game a bit easier (there’s an option to “whine and skip” a level if it’s proving too difficult), there are now tips on every loading screen, and menus have been changed to take advantage of the touch screen. You can change the control setup (tilt the console, use the left stick, use L and R buttons, or even use the rear touch pad). We wanted to make sure you have plenty of options when you play Puddle on your PS Vita!

While we’ve made lots of changes to the PS Vita version of Puddle, the main goal is still the same: get your puddle to the goal by any means necessary. We really hope you enjoy Puddle for PS Vita and manage to finish all the levels… oh, and pay attention to the background on the main menu — it may be more than just a background!

This week on PSN, you can try out the latest entry in the Clown Car Combat genre, with the Twisted Metal multiplayer demo, or Corporate Combat in Syndicate. Or ... not really combat with Puddle.

You can also download Madden NFL 12 -- just in time for the Super Bowl! Not that you'll be playing Madden while the game is on, of course. That release joins a trio of IO Interactive games newly available for download: both Kanes & Lynches and Mini Ninjas. Find everything available this week on the PlayStation Blog.

In days when tutorials run rampant, the puzzle genre is one that often requires the most explanation. You generally need some details going in; how many like-colored gems are required to earn points, what you need to do in order to score combos and move onto the next stage, and so on. Puddle does aw...

Puddle, Konami's liquid-based puzzle-platform thing, will begin trickling out to gamers thirsty for a challenge on January 25. Konami announced plans to release the XBLA version in North America on that date, followed by PSN one week later.

Puddle involves tilting the environment -- a human body, a blueprint, etc. -- to guide a small amount of liquid, such as water or rocket fuel, to its destination. It features a nice bit of real-world integration and a sort of augmented reality, in that talking about it totally makes you have to pee.

Puzzle games challenge the mind and occasionally the reflexes. Rarely do they deal with a whole bunch of fluids. Early next year, Puddle will hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live with its own take on the puzzle formula...

Fluidity was a great WiiWare game released last year where you used motion control to tilt the game world and slosh a body of water through various obstacles. Now the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade are getting their own take on Fluidity called Puddle. To be clear, these are different games from different developers, but they do share a lot in common...
