Even though Mega Man 10 includes a playable version of Mega Man 9's Proto Man at no additional cost, Capcom will still offer at least one additional character as premium DLC. Bass, a sort of evil Mega Man character introduced in Mega Man 7 and playable in Mega Man & Bass, will be released as a DLC character for the Wii version of Mega Man 10 on April 5 for 200 Wii Points ($2), according to Nintendo's Mega Man 10 page. A special stage will be available the same day for 300 Points.

An "Endless Attack Mode" will follow for 300 points on April 26, along with two more special stages for 100 Points each. These DLC dates are likely to be different for the other versions of Mega Man 10, if the add-on content is planned for all releases, since the release dates for the actual game are different on other platforms. We're contacted Capcom to verify.

A portion of a 1up review… MM10 fumbles the forward momentum established by its predecessor, and that’s a shame. MM9 promised a renaissance for the series, but MM10 suggests that’s it business as usual for Capcom. Still, while this may amount to little more than yet another Mega Man sequel, it’s still one of the best [...]

Capcom has confirmed a staggered March release for Mega Man's second, current-gen, 8-bit quest. Nintendo Wii fans will get behind the blue-bot's laser first with Mega Man 10 hitting the WiiWare service on March 1; PlayStation 3 fans can expect Mega Man's return on March 11; while Xbox 360 users will have to wait until March 31 to get their blast on.

Capcom also revealed images detailing Mega Man's upcoming arsenal, as well as images that show off the difference between the game's Normal and Easy modes. Spot images of all the new weapons and a glimpse at the game's challenge mode on the Unity blog.

If you managed to get all of the Achievements in Mega Man 9, then either your father's name is Jor-El or you're some kind of robotic boy yourself. Well, the Achievements (via Xbox360 Achievements) for Mega Man 10 look like they're going to be along the same lines: incredibly tough to unlock. Actually, some of them are identical to Mega Man 9, including the Achievement for defeating all eight bosses with just your standard weapon and finishing the game in under an hour. But, there's even tougher ones this time, such as the ridiculous defeat the eight bosses without your helmet on, the extremely ridiculous clear the game without using any energy, mystery, or weapon tanks and even the ain't ever gonna happen clear the entire game without taking any damage. However, there's hope in Easy Mode -- it's possible some of these could be unlocked by playing the game that way, though we were unable to get confirmation on this from Capcom. As for PS3 Trophies, it's a safe bet they'll be the same as the Achievements.
