There are so many Humble Bundles now! Why, back in my day, we had to wait 1417 years (uphill, in the snow, beset on all sides by lackluster deals and also wolverines) for fresh bowls of piping hot generosity, and we… well, I mean, we liked it, yeah, but honestly? We’re talking about great games on the cheap for good causes. So far, more has largely proven to be better. I mean, I haven’t really bought many of the Humble Weeklies, but I definitely appreciate that they exist. Really, my main issue is one of inevitability: the more games get bundled, the higher the likelihood is that I already own them. Case in point: most of Humble Bundle With Android 7.

The latest full game to take its toll on your PS3 hard drive (but not necessarily your wallet) is Borderlands, joining the PlayStation Plus "Instant Game Collection" in North America September 4. Download it this month and you'll have it as long as you're a member of the Sony premium service. Not a bad way to build excitement for the sequel!

Also next week, PS Plus members will be able to get Daytona USA for $3 (it'll be on sale for everyone else for $5) and Greed Corp for @$2.50.

Before that, Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Spelunker HD are on sale this week, for $3 and $5, respectively. Spelunker HD is also getting a free update with extra DLC this week.

Yeah, it definitely missed the summer, but as of December 10, Steam aficionados will be able to download a port of quirky Xbox Live Arcade and PSN strategy title, Greed Corp, for $9.99. The Steam version boasts a tweaked level and difficulty progression scale for the campaign and the ability to skip past lengthy AI turns. Of course, it'll also have Steam achievements and all of the usual platform functionality.

W!Games' hex-based, eco-friendly turn-based strategy title Greed Corp isn't going to stay confined to the XBLA and PSN platforms. A press release from the game's aptly-named publisher, The Games Company, has revealed plans to release the game as a retail PC package.

The title will hit store shelves this summer for $19.99 (and €19.99 overseas), and will include "an all new tutorial, improved campaign, simplified mouse controls and better graphics," as well as a few heretofore unannounced improvements over the console versions of the game. We bet it'll change the game board's spaces from hexagons to heptagons. Can you handle the extra corner and side? Psh, we doubt it.

There's new content for both PS platforms in the latest PSN Euro update, ranging from an unimaginably beefy demo for Darksiders, W!Games' strategy title Greed Corp, the The Secret Armory of General Knoxx expansion for Borderlands, the totally free third installment of Blue Toad Murder Files and a PSP demo for The Eye Of Judgment Legends. Welcome to the Mistbound universe! It’s my pleasure to announce that today Greed Corp, the first of many multi-genre games set in Mistbound, makes its North American debut on PlayStation Network.

Since Greed Corp is an introduction to the universe of Mistbound, I invite you to check out some of the art, screenshots and the trailer we’ve prepared for you here. We think you’ll agree, the art style, which draws heavily from both steampunk influences and our love for Miyazaki and Pixar films, is really fun and unique. As far as the gameplay, we tried to take the idea of a turn-based strategy game and add in a new twist, hence our land-collapsing mechanic, which is reminiscent of the old “Don’t’ break The Ice” tabletop game.

There’s plenty to do in the game as well. You can play as one of four factions in singleplayer mode, each of which has its own campaign and 24 maps to play on. But really, Greed Corp is about seeing how greedy you can be with your friends, so we have 36 maps to play a variety of multiplayer modes with up to 4-players online, local and computer controlled. All that and it’s only $9.99!

If that’s not enough, we here at W!Games are putting together a little giveaway in celebration of our first Mistbound Game! All you need to do is the following question about Mistbound:

1. How many square miles of land are surrounded by a mist that the sun never burns off?

Need a hint? Visit www.greedcorp.com. Email your answers to greedcorpgiveaway@gmail.com along with your name and mailing address for a chance to win a limited edition art book featuring over 40 pages of never before seen art from the Mistbound universe!

Now, who’s feeling greedy?

Filed under: X3F TV Three very different games on Xbox Live Arcade this week, gang. We've got the turn-based strategy of Greed Corp (800 / $10), the reverse platforming of Lazy Raiders (800 / $10) and the ... guitar-controlled platforming of Fret Nice (1200 / $15). Okay, so both Lazy Raiders and Fret Nice are basically platformers, but they're definitely different. Watch all the games in action in today's XBLA in Brief.

It's been so long since we've heard anything about Greed Corp that the conservationist-friendly strategy game nearly qualifies as a retro classic. Fortunately, today brought us the first news about the title since it was announced. In addition to PSN, its lead platform, Greed Corp will also be coming to Xbox Live Arcade and Windows-based PCs in early 2010. Today's announcement mentions that Greed Corp is just the "first in a series of games based in the rich Mistbound universe." Considering the heavy appearance of Don't Break The Ice-esque elements present in this game, we wonder if future installments in the franchise will adopt other popular board game tropes. For the record, W!Games, if you made a Mall Madness RPG, we would buy that.
