Hollywood has tried for years to make a good movie based on a video game, and failed. May as well try making one based on an indie game, then! More »
This information stems from a Twitter conversation involving Team Meat…
Teekay4242: @SuperMeatBoy The FAQ @ smb.com says the editor is “Maybe,” but the Steam page clearly lists “Full Level Editor” as a feature. Which is it?
SuperMeatBoy: @Teekay4242 It’s actually still maybe, but if we do it, it will only be for PC.
We are going to have [...]

Last week, game developer Tommy Refenes publicly called Apple's app store "awful" and "horrible." This week, Apple yanked his game from their store. More »
A game that’s more sadistic than Mega Man 10? That’s no easy feat to accomplish! That didn’t stop the Super Meat Boy guys from setting out on that mission. There’s no doubt that Super Meat Boy is a ridiculous challenge…one that will push your gaming skills to their limits. This is [...]
Nintendo had a few awesome new WiiWare announcements at its Nintendo Media Summit, most notably, Cave Story! Most notably in the field of games we didn't know about, new Art Style games! The series hasn't been on Wii since the DSi came out, but now we've got light trax (a Wii version of the original bit Generations game Dotstream) and Rotozoa (a game about multi-tentacled organisms absorbing creatures of the same color) to look forward to this spring!
Check out the trailer for Light Trax above, and see a trailer for Rotozoa, as well as screens of Max and the Magic Marker, WiiWare's WarioWare DIY Showcase, Rage of the Gladiator, And Yet It Moves, Super Meat Boy, and Cave Story after the break! Oh, man, Cave Story!
In this week's meat-related game news, Super Meat Boy devs "Team Meat" (a.k.a. Edmund McMillen and a few others) has confirmed the game's release for XBLA with the above screen via its Twitter account. The studio further confirmed the news to IGN, who also found out that the team is hoping for a summer release. According to the report, SMB will find his way into thousands of inglorious deaths on the Xbox 360 first, with WiiWare and PC/Mac support coming afterward. No PSN release was announced, but the team would say that it has the little meaty platformer up and running on a PlayStation 3 dev kit.
The reason for the move is said to be at least in part due to the space restrictions enforced by Nintendo and Microsoft, with the latter offering more space and thus more options for extra content. Super Meat Boy is claimed to be "about half finished," with the game's developers hoping for a summer release, just in time for grill season. Talk about synergy! Super Meat Boy is chugging along in development. Were you hoping that the game would be wrapped up soon? Don’t look for a release in the next few weeks or so. We have learned that the title has about two fifths of its actual content finished up. That means there’s a [...]
Nintendo's Q1 release schedule is as packed with new information as all Nintendo release schedules are. In addition to the announcements we've already covered, Nintendo confirmed the March 14 date for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Endless Ocean 2, another game Nintendo has been silent about since E3, is now called Endless Ocean: Blue World, and e-divers will be able to start exploring it on February 22.
Some big WiiWare indies are on the way in Q1, including And Yet It Moves and Super Meat Boy. See the full list of releases, including a series of unannounced, Nintendo-published DSiWare games, after the break.
While the artwork and screenshots are great, it’s this boss song linked below that is truly amazing. You have to listen to this track. Try to tell me that this wouldn’t get you pumped for a boss battle!
