In two years' time, movie theaters are going to look a whole lot like the PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits library. Sony announced on Tuesday that it is preparing a computer animated movie based on Sucker Punch Productions' Sly Cooper series, the latest in a string of in-production movies based on the SCE's gaming franchises. The movie will be directed by Kevin Munroe, who directed the 2007 animated TMNT feature, and crafted by Rainmaker.
Sly Cooper the movie will delve deeper into the raccoon thief's past than previous games (though not quite so far back as in 2013's Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time.) An origin story where Sly first finds out about his family's history as master crooks, the flick will follow him and his buddies Bentley the hacker turtle and Murray the wrestling pink hippo as they reassemble the Thievius Raccoonus, the Cooper family book of secret pilfering techniques.
