So, Christmas has come and gone, Chanukah is long over, Kwanzaa is just beginning, and New Year’s is just around the corner. Every one of us here hopes that you have or had a lovely holiday season, and will carry that loveliness into the coming year!
But no matter what your festivities may look like, one thing’s for sure: 2013 has been a year worth celebrating for the gaming industry, and for us at XSEED as well. A mere two weeks in, we got our year started less with a bang and more with a meaty squish as Corpse Party: Book of Shadows scared its way onto the North American PlayStation Store for PSP.
Months later, we released our very first physical PS3 title in North America with Killer is Dead, which SUDA51 fans (and fans of surrealistic action in general) agree is a killer good time. And we just closed off the year with a duo of handheld games for PS Vita: Valhalla Knights 3, our grittiest and perhaps most controversial title to date, and Ys: Memories of Celceta, one of our best-reviewed games in recent memory — which many rank among the Vita’s overall best offerings.
All in all, not a bad year for XSEED on PlayStation… but 2014 promises to up the ante, big time! Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is coming to PS3 and Vita in both physical and digital form sometime in early 2014, and it’s going to knock the socks off of anyone who weaned themselves on the original Ragnarok Odyssey back in 2012 (As well as anyone who enjoys hunting Norse giants but can never seem to find the time for it!).
We’re also working with independent localization studio Carpe Fulgur to bring you the long-awaited sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on PSP via PlayStation Store this summer. This will continue the tale of Estelle Bright as she searches the country of Liberl for answers to… so very many questions!
We have more in store for PS3, Vita, and even PSP fans in the coming year, so be sure to keep an eye on PlayStation.Blog, as well as our Facebook and Twitter, for any announcements (not to mention the inevitable pre-announcement teases!).
Be safe, be happy, and may these next 365 days be more bountiful than ever for us all!
