With 2014 fast approaching and the holidays in full swing, we, the humble dudes and dudettes that make up Aksys Games, would like to wish everyone a happy holidays and safe new year.

2013 has been a great year for us, and we have our ardent fans to thank. It’s because of you, who are willing to go the extra mile and experience new styles of gaming, that we continue to thrive. So, a big Aksys Games thanks across the Aksys Nation who have supported our endeavors and allowed us to buy the occasional “pat-on-the-back” office donuts. As we head into 2014, let’s take a look at what’s been going on, as well as what’s to come.

The year started off with a brawl (and a dash of “otome” here and there) with the release of Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi, available for PSP and PS Vita. Playing as the six “romance” characters from the acclaimed visual novel Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, players had the chance to live the story through their eyes and fight the good fight.

In the summer, we released Muramasa Rebirth, from acclaimed developer Vanillaware, for PS Vita. With stunning visuals and high-flying action, players were able to delve deep into mythological Japan as the possessed princess, Momohime, or the amnesiac ninja, Kisuke. More on that DLC that everyone’s been talking about a bit later!

As part of our continued commitment to bring otome games to the west, we published Sweet Fuse: At Your Side for PSP — a fun, clever visual novel featuring famed game creator, Keiji Inafune. As Inafune’s niece, Saki, players join a group of bachelors trapped in a life-or-death game to save her uncle’s theme park from the evil Count Hogstein. And maybe, just maybe, find love along the way.

Finally, we wrapped up 2013 with the release of Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God for PS Vita. This rather wacky game blends a comedic plot with challenging roguelike functions. It’s as fun as it is frustrating (in a good way, we promise).

In 2014, we’ll be hard at work bringing some of our biggest franchises to you.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, the newest iteration of the famed BlazBlue fighting game series, will be released on March 25th, 2014 for PS3. BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is currently available for pre-order, with a standard edition as well as a limited edition that includes items like a behind-the-scenes blu-ray and a Rachel Alucard nendoroid petite.

And Muramasa Rebirth isn’t over just yet. We’ll be releasing all four DLC packs stateside starting in early 2014 with “Genroku Legends: Fishy Tales of the Nekomata.” Each of the DLC in “Genroku Legends” is standalone, with a completely new protagonist and storyline to enjoy. Battle new bosses or fight those from the original story.

Lastly, Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi for PS3 brings the highly-acclaimed Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom to life with nearly 20 hours of additional content and storylines.

2014 will be a big year for Aksys Games as our announcements thus far are just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned as we introduce new titles, and we hope that you rock on with us!
