I was watching the new trailer they have out and I've come to realize that the problem with Paper Mario: Sticker Star is that they created all these cool little ideas and effects but it seems there's no equally cool application for them, you know what I mean? All I got out of the trailer is "Hey guys, look what we can do! Isn't that cool? Oh check this out too! And This!" Maybe the game has other aspects to it that I'm not seeing, but they should have displayed that in the trailer if they are there. I just feel like they're missing what really completed previous Paper Mario games, and that was the wacky and crazy adventures that Mario went on with the friends he met on the way. I'm not saying Paper Mario has a deep plot or anything stupid like that, I'm saying you can't take one aspect of a game and create a whole other game out of it. It would be like looking at a painting and thinking "Ok, let's make something just like this, but let's not add shading to it this time." You're essentially removing the depth that the original had.
I kinda see what you're saying, Nas. Even with the lack of partners, the game still seems to have some personality. I hope the different locations manage to keep it up, anyways.
The combat is what I'm worried about. Stickers are cool, but I don't know if they can keep it fresh enough to make encounters exciting.
Hrrmm I really don't know how this game is going to turn out
no paper mario will ever top paper mario 2
except not as good
