Everyone knows that something isn't true until I say it is.

Indeed. Here's some tips to save you some time/have the best experience playing.
-You can't get the true end without getting the safe end first (it'll just give you the coffin end).
-I recommend playing the endings in this order: submarine/axe/knife, safe then true ending. 
-Don't bother getting the coffin ending, it just cockblocks you halfway through the true ending.
-Don't go any route that will land you the submarine ending besides door 3 otherwise there's no point in going through that door in a later playthrough besides solving the room for completion.
